While the worst financial crisis for generations has driven the European economy to the brink of recession and economic growth close to a standstill, Hungary, which is not part of the eurozone, was literally only "hours" away from state bankruptcy in October 2008.
Aljazeera English correspondent Harry Smith with camerawoman Alina
Grachova, produced two reports reflecting on the financial and economic hardships of the country.
Crews supported their effort with local expertise, organizing the shoot well before the crew landed at Budapest Airport. During the one week filming in Hungary, Crews for News provided production services, translations, transportation and logistics to Aljazeera.
